Airport Express

If you don't want to spend too much time on bus, you can take airport express to any MTR station.

Take Wai Chai as an example. There are 2 ways from Airport station to Wan Chai Station:

1)  Take airport express to Hong Kong Station.
Interchange to Island line at Central platform 3 (to Chai Wan)

The fare is $100. The travelling time is about 38 minutes.

2)  Take airport express to Tsing Yi Station.
Interchange to Tung Chung Line at platform 4 (to Hong Kong)
Take MTR to Hong Kong station.
Interchange to Island line at Central platform 3 (to Chai Wan)

The fare is $60 + $13.8 = $73.8. The travelling time is about 49 minutes.

Both of the above fares are much cheaper than taxi fare (~$300). The travelling time is almost the same. (~40 minutes for taxi)

Taxis in Hong Kong

Hong Kong consists of three regions: Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories (NT).

There are 3 types of taxis in Hong Kong, i.e. urban taxis (red taxis), NT taxis (green taxis) and Lantau taxis (blue taxis). They operate in different parts.

The taxi fare of these 3 types of taxis are different as well.
http://www.td.gov.hk/en/transport_in_hong_kong/public_transport/taxi/taxi_fare_of_hong_kong/index.html
(You cannot use octopus card to pay taxi fare. Only cash accepted)

If you take a taxi from airport (GTC) terminal to Lynwood Court of TSW, it costs about 300HKD and the travelling time is about 35 minutes. (Bear in mind that you should choose green taxi because green taxi is slightly cheaper than red taxi.) Ask the driver to take you to Tin Shui Wai Lynwood Court. If he doesn't know its English name, show him these Chinese words "天水圍嘉湖山莊麗湖居正門".

If you take a taxi from airport (GTC) terminal to other place, you can check the estimated fare by this website: http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/transport/to-from-airport/taxi.html
(But if you have enough time, why take taxi? why not choose other cheaper transport? I can help you to check all the details.)

I don't suggest you to take taxi from the Peak to TSW directly because as you said you want to save as much as you can. I guess the taxi fare is around $400 which is definitely too high.

As the sunset time is 5:47 pm on 31 Oct, the sky will completely turn dark at about 6:05 pm. If you leave the Peak at ~6:20 pm, it is still very early to go home. So I suggest that you can take taxi from the Peak to Central ferry pier no. 7. There is a halal restaurant at Central ferry pier no. 7. You can have a early dinner there. Then take a ferry to East Tsim Sha Tsui. It is the cheapest but the most romantic way to across Victoria Harbor.

The taxi fare of red taxi from the Peak to Central ferry pier no. 7 is about $75-85. The travelling time is very short, just about 10 minutes.  The Chinese name of Central ferry pier no. 7 is "中環7號碼頭".

But watch out for the dishonest taxi drivers. To prevent from being cheated, you should:

1) Estimate the taxi fare first

2) Take a photo of the personal information of the taxi driver

The personal information of the taxi driver is shown on a white card which is near the fare meter.

3) Keep the receipt in case you doubt about the fare

4) Don't pay a great amount of note and count the change carefully.

Prepaid Sim Card with 3G/4G plan

There are totally 4 telecommunications companies in Hong Kong. They are HKT (CSL, 1010, PCCW), Smartone, 3HK and CMHK.

Actually there are still some cheaper sim cards, but the network is not too good. So I only introduce 4 cards to Zana.

PCCW-HKT Discover Hong Kong Tourist SIM Card
https://www.hkcsl.com/en/Prepaid-Discover-HK-Tourist-SIM-Card/

1) 1.5GB, 3G, $69
For this one, I am not so sure if it is in nano size. But you can ask the staff to cut the card into nana size.

2) 5GB, 3G, $96, nano size
This one cannot be recharged.

Discover Hong Kong Tourist SIM Card
https://www.hkcsl.com/en/Discover-HK-Tourist-Prepaid-SIM/

3) 1.5GB, 4G, $88, nano size

4) 5GB(+1.5GB), 4G, $118, nano size
I have bought this one for Yaya because I know she is a data killer (Haha~ I worry that 6.5GB is also not enough).
This one has a big advantage. If you don't dial or recieve any IDD calls or send any SMS, you can get extra 1.5GB by dialing *131#.

Once you enter Meeters and Greeters Hall (Non-restricted area), you go to 1010 shop first to buy the sim card. Then go to 7-eleven to top-up your octopus card.
